Abstract:

The FREIA Laboratory at Uppsala University was inaugurated in 2013 and works on the development of accelerators and instrumentation. FREIA has testing facilities for superconducting accelerating structures and magnets, and works on the development of solid-state RF technology, proton accumulator rings and FELs. FREIA participates in the development of the European Spallation Source (ESS), the High Luminosity LHC upgrade at CERN, and a soft X-ray FEL for MAXlab. I will give a brief overview of the R&D at the laboratory.
